Classes have finally started to get really interesting and I've gotten into the thick of my year and I know what to expect for the rest of the year, not counting any plot twists or game changers along the way. I've started to get into this rhythm and I'm really enjoying it. The biggest thing that happened was me making my very first student film! The project had to be two minutes or less and had to be edited in camera (meaning every time I stopped recording, that would be a take). The editing in camera was challenging, especially when things didn't work out and I had to cue the tape back. Anyway, my project was titled "Delicate" and most of all dealt with a girl's loss with her boyfriend and her desperation to go back to the way things were. The beginning of the film dealt with the girl's consiousness placed in this labyrinth of tunnels as she kept chasing after and trying to cling to her boyfriend who was disappearing and always floating away from her. The last few moments of the film showed the girlfriend and how she was dealing with the loss without going into her mind as she just let all of emotional barriers go and just wailed. Working with an actress was so rewarding to get her to that place (even though she was Lauren lol) and made me remember why film is so important in the first place; because of the emotions it can eternally capture. I got chills while filming as we really pushed Lauren to really feel this terrible pain and I loved going on this emotional journey. It just felt so real.
I also had a lot of fun with Trojan Vision's open house and got almost 90 new recruits for the station! I'm very excited for the nightly broadcast to start airing as I can't wait to start booking guests again and producing talk show episodes. I already have about 6 or 7 guests interested in appearing with two confirmed ones; Jonathan Bennett (Lindsey Lohan's bf in "Mean Girls") and Kenny Baumann from "Secret Life of an American Teenager"!!! It's going to be awesome when our first week of broadcast starts on February 2nd.
Also, I really wanted to express my excitement for the most amazing televised event this week...THE RETURN OF LOST!!! I am beyond ecstatic to find out where or when the island went to when Ben moved it, if Juliet will emere as a leader with the rest of the characters off the island, Sun's path to vengeance, and to see how the Oceanic 6 go back to the island (if Ben and ocke are telling the truth that they HAVE to go back)...answers are going to be revealed and I can't wait to see how everything goes full circle. I have put so much into watching LOST and I have no idea what I'm going to do when the series finally ends. I feel for these characters so much. This show was the reason why I wanted to enter the world of television in the first place and an inspiration to what I can achieve through this medium.
In the words of Jack Shepard...
WE HAVE TO GO BACK, KATE! WE HAVE TO GO BACK!!!
